Denim

After much research and consideration, I selected 100% pre-consumer waste denim (aka recycled denim) to be the core fabric of Over All 1516. This fabric is made made in a family owned, 3rd generation textile mill, from small scraps of denim that are left over when other brands cut out their denim fabric in production. Recycled denim saves SO much water because we aren't growing any new cotton plants to produce it, and takes less energy to make into fabric than regular cotton or organic cotton. Due to the nature of the recycled denim, there is no need for dyes, which means every roll of fabric is a slightly different colour based on the original colour of the recycled denim.

Organic cotton Canvas

Over All 1516 art collaborations with Casey Burrill and Piero Clemente Garreffa have used 100% organic cotton canvas as the base fabric to print their original artworks on. The organic cotton fibres are from cotton crops grown under Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) certification.

Chemicals and colourants in the printing process are Oeko-Tex approved.

Water based Pigment ink is applied directly onto fabric which is bonded by heat and pressure to the fibre. This is a water free process and also means.

Recycled & organic twill

Over All 1516 art collaborations with Hollie Martin used 25% recycled cotton / 75% organic cotton twill as the base fabric to print her original artwork on.

Recycled cotton comes from pre consumer waste cotton scraps, and the organic cotton fibres are from cotton crops grown under Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) certification.

Oeko-Tex approved, water based Pigment ink is applied directly onto fabric which is bonded by heat and pressure to the fibre. This is a water free process and also means.

Hemp & organic cotton fleece

Hemp is a natural pest repellent, eliminating the need for pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilisers. It grows quickly and can be harvested up to three times a year, maturing in just 100 days. Compared to cotton, hemp yields 200-250% more fiber on the same land area. Additionally, hemp enriches soil with nitrogen, oxygen, and combats erosion through its deep root system, which also naturally detoxifies the soil.
